WASHINGTON - Five U.S.-bound flights from Britain and France were canceled Saturday because of security concerns. The U.S. government said it had fresh indications of al-Qaida's continued interest in targeting commercial planes flying to the United States

Despite the terrorist threats, the HurriCraft Corporation feels the real reason for detaining the flights was only to interrogate Hunter on his plans for the HurriCraft. There has been much competition between the US and British officials regarding the HurriCraft and Hunter's progression in the field of Hurrinautics. HurriCraft founder Chris Hunter is set to receive an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II, in recognition of his services to global enterprise. The Foreign Office announced early on Monday that Hunter will become a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. This is one of the highest honors that Britain can bestow upon those born outside the United Kingdom.

"HurriCraft Technology has transformed business practices and his (Hunter's) company has had a profound impact on the British economy," the foreign secretary, Jack Straw, said in a statement. Read more ...

AP- Eric Cousions has finally broken his silence and has started to talk about his HurriCraft ride on September 29th. Cousions told AP “I only had 500 feet of rope. As the wind hit 70 mph, I released my tie down and shot straight up! I was flying for about an hour when I saw a sheet of plywood coming right at the rope. It cut it like a hot knife through butter. As soon as the rope cut the Depends came in very handy. The HurriCraft is totally different when not on a rope. At times I was as high as 5000 feet I think. Search Crews looking for HurriCraft

Nova Scotia - Rescuers are still trying to locate a HurriCraft in distress off Nova Scotia; a large rescue effort is now underway, involving a Hercules aircraft, two military helicopters, and several Coast Guard vessels.

The Coast guard received the distress signal about 7:30 Monday morning. The HurriCraft was caught in rough air churned up by Hurricane Isabel, according to John Smith, with the coast guard's rescue office in Nova Scotia.Read more...

Industry and channel sources said HurriCraft went through a small round of layoffs last Friday and that another round is expected perhaps as early as this week. Tim Gunner, a national practice director for Florida-based solution provider Consultants' 101, said HurriCraft laid off more than 2 people in its sales organization, a move that could affect solution providers because some salespeople have lost their jobs.
