Lost Hurri~Crafter Breaks Silence

January 11, 2004 - Charlotte North Carolina

AP- Eric Cousions has finally broken his silence and has started to talk about his HurriCraft ride on September 29th. Cousions told AP “I only had 500 feet of rope. As the wind hit 70 mph, I released my tie down and shot straight up! I was flying for about an hour when I saw a sheet of plywood coming right at the rope. It cut it like a hot knife through butter. As soon as the rope cut the Depends came in very handy. The HurriCraft is totally different when not on a rope. At times I was as high as 5000 feet I think. It’s hard to tell because you really can’t see much".

"The landing was very hard. I hit sideways and skidded over some tree tops and once I stopped the HurriCraft fell to the ground. I was alone in the woods. I never saw a person or a plane. I made camp by using the HurriCraft as a lean-to and kept me very dry. In my survival kit I had fishing line and tackle so I started to fish and the lake was full big fish so I was never hungry. One time a deer came into camp but saw the HurriCraft and bolted so no meat but fish and berries".

Eric Cousions would not comment on his rescue other then to say he is sticking to story.
